Yahweh Shammah (The Lord is There.)

Are you having a difficult day, month, or year?

Are you discouraged, disheartened or dismayed?

Do you need a pick-me-upper?

Come with me.

Not into a story of make belief, but into a vision of a new temple, a new city, a new kingdom, a new people. Grab a coffee or morning tea and find a quiet nook inside or outside to contemplate the wonder. Hope will ignite, and after being given this glimpse into God's Holy city which every believer will be part of, I promise you, your worries will fade.

Ezekiel is given a peek into the future (Ezekiel 40 to 48) and he writes about a glorious day when God returns, renews the earth and reigns in righteousness. (Psalm 46). Sin has been defeated, we are no longer prone to wander, to cause pain to one another, to gripe, or grapple. We will be at peace frolicking with both the lion and the lamb, dancing with the angels, singing with the Heavenly hosts and having important work and creativity to share. But the most exciting joy will be the fact depicted in Ezekiel 38:35…and the name of the city from that day shall be: The LORD (Yahweh) is There.

Yahweh Shammah means that the LORD is there—Present with His people.

1 Cor. 3:16 tells us that through Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God dwells in us and we are the temple of God. This is the assurance we have right now. However, the Word of God also tells us in 1 Cor. 13:12 "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now, I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known."

Imagine with me, that day when all mystery will be revealed. The setting will be a garden city, Eden restored. Streets of gold. Gates of pearl. Walls adorned with all kinds of precious stones. Light and rainbows cast by the glory of God and the Lamb Jesus.

What will it be like to approach the Father as a son or daughter, to climb up on his lap and lean in saying Abba, Daddy, I love you? In the place where as Rev. 21:4 says, "And God will wipe away every tear from your eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away. 5)Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful. 7) He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he (she) shall be My son, (My daughter.)
